A seasoned actor and director, vondie curtis hall has had success on both sides of the camera. He has appeared in a wide variety of films and TV shows, including Chicago Hope, Marvel’s Daredevil, For the People, and ER. He also directed Gridlock’d, Glitter, Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story, and Waist Deep.

Despite his prolific career as an actor, it was Curtis-Hall’s direction that brought him national recognition and acclaim. In 1997, he wrote and directed Gridlock’d, a film that received the National Board of Review Award for excellence in filmmaking.

He continued to direct throughout the 1990s, directing films such as Passion Fish, Sugar Hill, Crooklyn, Clear and Present Danger, Drop Squad, William Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, and Eve’s Bayou. He also starred in films such as Die Hard 2 and One Good Cop, as well as episodes of ER, Firefly, and Chicago Hope.

In his career as an actor, he has played a diverse range of characters, from the African prince in Eddie Murphy’s Coming to America to a drug dealer in Michael Douglas’ Falling Down. He also starred in the classic movie, Amadeus.

As an actor, he has been nominated for Emmys and received several prestigious awards. He also won the prestigious Black Reel Award for his role in the biopic Redemption: The Stan Tookie Williams Story.

Currently, he is starring in Alexi Hawley’s new series Graymail for Netflix. He also has a starring role in David Bruckner’s The Night House for Fox Searchlight, opposite Rebecca Hall.
